SWEDISH MASSAGE

This is one of the most common modalities and what most people think of when it comes to massage therapy. A Swedish massage is typically distinguished by the types of strokes (i.e. effleurage, kneading, friction, vibration), tools (fingertips, palms, fists) and pressure (light, medium, firm). This style is ideal for those who are new to massage therapy and/or just want to relax.

DEEP TISSUE MASSAGE

In anatomy deep is a directional term used to describe the position of one structure/tissue relative to the surface of the body or another overlying structure/tissue. However, a deep TISSUE massage does not necessarily require deep PRESSURE. Furthermore, it's often not possible to know which muscles or tissues are affected until mid-session or after a thorough assessment has been completed. Therefore, this service is generally recommended for anyone who is experiencing pain or discomfort in specific areas of the body.

ESALEN® MASSAGE

Esalen Massage is characterized by long sweeping strokes punctuated with deep specific work, passive joint movement, and personal connection to create a state of awareness and energized relaxation in the receiver. The emphasis is less on initiating physiological change than on creating an environment to sense inwardly with the able guidance of the practitioner. This holistic approach joins body to mind to soul.

THAI MASSAGE

Thai Massage is an ancient and powerful method of healing that combines deep compressions, acupressure, and passive yoga stretching to restore total balance for body and mind.

Getting a Thai Massage is like going to your massage therapist, acupuncturist, chiropractor, then a yoga class. It is a truly holistic bodywork experience.
